Residence Inn Omaha West

We were passing through Omaha on our way back from Colorado, and this Residence Inn is my favorite Marriott. The room was clean and had a kitchenette, a big bathroom, a king bed, sofa, desk, and TV. Breakfast was included, well stocked, and neatly arranged. The amenities were great, but the staff, including the front desk team, really made the stay. Customer service was excellent.

Breakfast wrapped up at 9, earlier than at most places, and the dining area was dirty during my visit. At the end, they also tried to clean my room despite the do not disturb sign. The whole property looked worn, and my room needed attention: large bits of debris were left on the carpet, the shower head needed replacing, I had to fix the way the bed had been made, and a strong cleaning product smell lingered for all three nights. I expect more from a Marriott. I wouldn’t call it the worst, but I don’t think I’d return. Getting in was a problem the first night. The app wouldn’t unlock the exterior doors, so I went to the desk for a key. The staff member looked at her computer without acknowledging me for a while. She did try to help when she looked up, but she hadn’t been trained well and couldn’t make a key because she was locked out of the computer. She offered to walk me to the room and bring a key later. I decided to try the app again, and it worked. Getting a key the next morning went better. I don’t blame her, but it all pointed to poor management.

My aunt and I had booked three nights, and at first they said we’d have to move after the first one. Then at check-in they gave us two connecting king suites for the price of one room. Both were clean, with full kitchens and lots of storage. The customer service was top-notch, and the breakfast was much better than we expected. We’ll stay here again when we come back to visit family. Thanks for a great stay!

We come back here often. It’s clean and quiet, easy to reach, and close to shopping and other amenities in west Omaha. The customer service is excellent, too.
