The room was clean, quiet, and pleasant, and we slept well in the beds. We got there after midnight, exhausted, after calling the online number about a room with 2 Queen beds. The woman on the phone said that location had no availability, though she could check elsewhere. Since we were already at the hotel, we stopped in anyway. Maleak (spelling) greeted me right away and confirmed they had a room. He was friendly and professional. We’ll definitely stay with WoodSpring Suites again.

The location is the one thing this hotel has going for it, since it’s only minutes from my job. The room looked nice when I got there after work, until I switched on the bathroom light and found a roach in the shower. The next morning there was no hot water. I left my number several times so I could explain my concerns, but nobody called back. I just got excuses about who might have time to listen. I’d drive a few more miles for cleaner accommodations and better service.

Getting into the building was a problem with a wheelchair too. Every door had to be pulled open or unlocked with a key card just to reach the hallway. After everything that happened, we cut our trip short and went home a day early. At checkout, the desk clerk said the bill showed a credit for one night, but it wouldn’t be refunded. She knew nothing about the compensation we’d been promised and said we’d have to talk to the manager, who probably wouldn’t be back until Monday. I mentioned the “MARCHING” noise from upstairs again, and the two women at the desk exchanged looks before one said, “oh I think I know who that is.” Then they both burst out laughing. I don’t see anything funny about it. The trouble started before we even got a room. Days before arrival, I called to make sure we’d have a roll-in shower for my quadriplegic spouse, and they confirmed one. But when we arrived around 10pm and checked, the room didn’t have one. The desk clerk searched several rooms and found one, but it was dirty, so she said she’d have to clean it first. We waited over an hour. Once we were settled, we discovered the TV didn’t work. The clerk said nobody could check it that night, but she’d leave a note for the next day and said they’d offer compensation. We were out most of the following day. When we returned, the TV still didn’t work. The clerk came up and confirmed it, then offered to move us. We agreed, as long as the new room had a roll-in shower. She said there were only 2 such rooms, and one was closed because shower water ran into the hallway. She let us sleep in that room and use its shower, while keeping our original room too. My spouse was humiliated and lost his dignity just trying to shower there. Getting him ready takes a lot, and after he was in the shower chair, we had to drape towels over his lap and shoulders and take him through the main hall to the other room. In the shower, the water kept swinging between scalding hot and ice cold. The room above us sounded like someone was marching ALL NIGHT LONG, the floors were filthy, and my feet turned black just walking barefoot to bed. The WIFI was also non existent.

The front desk was very friendly, and I had no issues during my stay. It’s one of the best places I’ve stayed in a long time. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone. Along Interstate 16, it’s the only hotel for a good stretch, east or west.

Housekeeping only comes once every 2 weeks???? And this is a brand new hotel, but there was no hot water, so we had to take cold showers. The front desk staff was rude when we brought it up, and they wouldn’t refund us for the next 2 nights if we checked out early. I wish I could give 0 stars.
