We used to stay here all the time when the old owners ran it, and it was a nice place. Now it feels like the new owners care more about cutting costs and collecting every extra dollar than looking after guests. The steps are falling apart, and the ADA ramp was taped off and unusable. Even one of the chairs in our closet was broken. Breakfast is a stretch of a word for a couple of cereals and prepackaged breads. Half the tables and chairs were missing because the owner said they were broken. It starts at 8 sharp, even though the ski resort opens at 8:30. Why not start two hours before the slopes open? I don't get it. I also heard from another unhappy guest who arrived at 1:30. Their room was ready, but when they asked to change in it before the 3 o'clock check-in, they were told it'd cost $35. Absolutely ridiculous. I won't be back. Good riddance.

There's plenty to do within walking distance, especially bars if you're a young adult who drinks. That's about the main plus for me. The maintenance and cleaning were both lacking. The stairs shifted as I walked up to the door, cobwebs were easy to see in the corners, and there was dust and trash behind furniture. The shower curtain wouldn't stay closed on one side because the rod was loose, and I even found a small nail head sticking out of the wall. I wasn't expecting the Hilton, but the stairs moving underfoot are a real problem.

We booked a king but got "upgraded" to a two queen room. It worked out fine, though the change was a bit of a head-scratcher. The room itself was spacious, but dated, and the mattresses could use an update. The wooden ramp and stairs need attention too. We planned to use the toaster and microwave before an early Sunday event, but couldn't. At least there are breakfast options in town. Breakfast was supposed to run from 8 to 10am, but the office was locked at 8:30am Monday morning.

We booked through Airbnb and were met with a musty, moldy smell as soon as we entered the room. Then we found a bright red blood stain on the underside of a pillow. It hadn't been washed, and given how the pillow was positioned, we could only assume it was placed to hide the stain instead of changing the sheets. Staff brought fresh bedding and changed it in front of us. Looking around, we found the rest of the room wasn't very clean either. The sink and shower were dirty, the shower was difficult to use, and there was very little hot water. At checkout, my fiancé noticed his card had been charged twice, once by Airbnb and once by the lodge. We showed the front desk proof, but the staff member and Airbnb host both insisted we'd only paid once and refused to refund either charge. It turned into a long, unproductive argument. We don't usually complain, but paying twice for a dirty room and getting no refund was the last straw. Other reviews also seem to mention dirty rooms and sheets, and trouble getting refunds.

The units were dirty and smelled like sewer gas. In my mother's unit at Martha Lodge, there was a waterfall in the hallway, and the owners didn't care. When I called to speak with them, they said they wouldn't make things right and wouldn't connect me with the ownership person. They hung up, then ignored my calls from several numbers, about 5-10 times. Don't stay here. My mother can barely walk after knee surgery, and the front desk didn't even have a snow shovel to clear the sidewalk, despite operating in a ski village. We booked two rooms but only one was ready. We waited about two hours for the second room's keys, which ruined the start of our trip. When I called before making a complaint, they said they didn't care if I complained and didn't want to fix things. The place also didn't feel secure. Doors had been kicked in and were left wide open for anyone or any animal to come in.
