Silver Rapids Lodge

It was peaceful hanging out by the water or on the porch, and even though the motel was busy, it never felt crowded. I had a wonderful stay over Labor Day weekend and chatted with other guests about how nice the place is. The room had a beautiful view and everything needed for a relaxing weekend. It looks like the rooms were redone very recently. I’ll be back next time I’m in the area.

The deck was run down and didn’t feel safe, and the cabin had a very musty smell. We didn’t stay, but couldn’t cancel the reservation, so we went down the road and stayed at the grand instead. At check-in, I was told the silver had new owners who are updating it. I wish the new owners well. Who knows, we might be back this way soon and get a chance to see the improved silver rapids lodge.

The hotel and lodge are beautiful, and so is the area. It’s fairly close to Ely for shopping, gas, and other needs. My room’s bathroom curtain was very thin, nearly see-through, so someone could look in if they wanted. There were ladybugs in the room as well. Otherwise, it was a very nice stay.

We stayed during the week, and it was quiet. The service was friendly and personable, and there were outlets at the dock for boats. It’s a nice rustic cabin on the lake, good for a small group, and was exactly what we expected.
