Days Inn Emporia

Breakfast had a great selection: warm egg sandwiches, excellent coffee, fresh fruit, muffins, and snacks to take for the road. The morning agent was just as pleasant as the one who checked us in quickly and easily. The agent was extremely nice and moved us, without us asking, to a ground-floor room on the side away from the highway, which made our pooch very happy. Room 141 in Emporia had a modern design, a huge TV, and a very modern step-in shower. It was pretty clean, but there were dark splatters of an unknown substance on the inside of the door and wall. The bathroom door didn't fit right, so there was a gap you could see through when it was closed. One bed creaked so much it kept me awake half the night, and a bedspread had what looked like a cigarette burn hole.

There are lots of places nearby and the area is well lit. Customer service was great, and the hotel was very clean. The bed was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was limited, but clean, with hot coffee, toast, juice, cereal, and yogurt. I'll come back. The only issue was my refrigerator wasn't working, but they had ice for me to keep my medicine cool.

The location just off 95 was great, and the area was quiet. The room was clean, the stay was good value, and the service at check-in was excellent. I can't remember the staff member's name, but it started with a J. She was really friendly and welcoming. Breakfast wasn't appealing, with Eggo waffles and microwave items, but Bojangles is next door. I'll visit again.

I come here often, and the hotel is usually okay for the price. This last time, though, I had a bed bug bite my back all night. They moved me to another room after I called, but that didn't make up for the trauma. I spoke with the GM and was accused of bringing the bugs in myself. Customer service was bad, and I couldn't get the refund I felt I deserved.
