We stayed two nights with our family and dog, and for the price I thought it was a great value. The location is convenient, with plenty to eat and do nearby. We went to Maggianos and took the kids to Boondocks, and downtown Denver is a short drive if you don’t find something close by. Check-in was seamless, and the front desk offered our dog a treat. Our spacious room felt like a small apartment, and I’m pretty sure we were among the first guests in a newly renovated room. I liked having the bedroom separate from the living area. The kitchenette had a full-size fridge, dishwasher, stovetop but no oven, plus utensils, plates, bowls, and pots. It was very quiet, which helped with a dog who barks at every noise. Breakfast was free with quite a few choices, and my son loved making mini waffles. We enjoyed the stay and I highly recommend it. A couple of things kept the room from five stars: the old AC and heating units blew out lots of dust, and seemed to keep blowing air even when off. You could see dust clumps on the floor, which concerned me because I have allergies. Also, there were only two pull-down shades instead of room-darkening curtains, and the bedroom shade was broken and wouldn’t come all the way down. With my 3-year-old waking at the first sign of sunrise, better window coverage would’ve helped us sleep longer. Service also fell short when I asked Tom for more towels and toilet paper around 8 am on our second day. He said he’d tell housekeeping, but when I followed up by text around 11 am, I got no response. My husband eventually went to get them himself. I felt the hospitality and customer service were lacking in that moment.

The staff experience was mixed. The man who checked us in was warm and greeted us whenever we came through the lobby, and another employee patiently helped with our extension and answered all our questions. At checkout, though, the staff member asked how things had gone, then seemed uninterested when I described the problems and gave a short, cold apology before moving on. It felt pointless to ask if she didn’t want to hear the answer. We were there for two weeks during renovations, which I’d avoid if you have another option. Water was shut off on our first night. On the final day, workers had every elevator tied up moving furniture while I was taking luggage down. I couldn’t fit the cart in, so I squeezed in with one large suitcase by riding up and back down, then carried the rest down the stairs over several trips. Housekeeping also missed the floor and toilet on some visits, even when dirt was visible.

The place was clean and the staff were friendly. Some rooms, possibly all of them, have kitchens with full-size fridges and cooktops, though there’s no oven. Bring your own pillow if you can. The room pillows gave me no neck support, and I woke up with a stiff neck.

The breakfast was solid, though the coffee was tucked inside the breakfast nook with no sign pointing it out. Staff seemed friendly, but I never received the replacement foam pillows I asked for. The down pillows in the room had no support, and the shower door swung open unless you shut it completely. The bathroom also let water get all over the floor. We were here for a wedding as Honors members. The hotel is right across from the other Hilton, but needs better signs. The building looks dated and worn, though remodeling was due to start the following month. Our room was mostly clean but needed paint and spackle. We arrived late Saturday and left early Tuesday, yet were billed for four days of parking at $4.50 a day. There’s potential here, but it needs work.

The worst part was how late we heard about the bus minimums. We believed our wedding guests had met the required amount by the cutoff, but nobody told us we hadn’t. A month after the wedding, they said we owed $2,000 in back fees. We were prepared to pay, but if we’d known sooner, we could have made other plans or talked through options. They later put points in our account, which was a gesture, but didn’t undo the stress or communication problems. We couldn’t book a block at Homewood Suites Inverness Denver because a conference was happening then. When we visited during the event, the huge hotel seemed nearly empty, which was frustrating. They placed us at a nearby Homewood Suites instead, where construction noise woke several guests, including people in our group. We also struggled to reach our contact, calling and leaving messages without a reply. Partway through, the contact changed, but communication was still poor. I wouldn’t recommend Homewood Suites Inverness Denver for wedding blocks. There are easier options with clearer communication.
