Budget Inn Ennis

I was looking for an old-fashioned motel, partly for the nostalgia, where I could park right outside my room because I was transporting something very rare. Mostly, I just needed to get out of the scorching heat, shower, and sleep. The lack of amenities didn't bother me.

The room was so cramped I could touch both walls from the bed, and getting trash bags from the morning cleaning staff was difficult. The crowd seemed seedy, and it smelled of curry. I was homeless then, so it was affordable and, given the circumstances, not the worst. For that price, I wasn't expecting much.

I was out again within half an hour of checking in. The staff were very rude, and the place was badly run down, though I tried not to judge too quickly. Then I opened the room door and saw a roach on the nightstand. The headboard had what looked like semen stains, and the bed looked like it might have bedbugs. They expect you to hang clothes from the plumbing pipes. The tub's exterior was rusted, and there was a spider behind the shower curtain. They only take cash and have no Wi-Fi. I'd avoid it.

The customer service was bad and the staff were very rude. Even for a budget motel, the rooms need major updating. I asked for my money back as soon as I walked in. For $10 to $15 more, I'd go to a hotel up the road near Main Street. You might be glad you left this run-down place. Enter at your own risk.
