Best Western Erie Inn & Suites

The gentleman who greeted us was smiling and very welcoming. Our room had two clean, presentable full-size beds, and we got a great night’s sleep. I did notice damage at the top of one window and to the drapes, and the refrigerator ran but didn’t keep anything cold. I’m mentioning those concerns without intending to put the hotel down. Thanks, Best Western. I’d return and recommend it to friends and family.

I was bitten badly by bedbugs in room 221, on the left bed. When I told the receptionist, they didn’t seem concerned, and I couldn’t find a manager on site. I was there for two days despite having paid for three, and they’re refusing to refund me. I also wasn’t reimbursed for the trip. The email address they gave me doesn’t work, and I still haven’t been able to contact management or speak with a manager. The room had dirt all over and hadn’t been vacuumed. Breakfast was inedible apart from the coffee and cereal. This felt like a low-standard hotel with poor management. I doubt they’ll get rid of the bedbugs, and I wouldn’t trust the place with customers’ health and safety. There seemed to be fewer customers here than at the nearby hotels, which says a lot about its condition.

The room was mostly clean and not bad, but I found a condom beneath the flashing alarm clock when I picked it up to set it. It felt almost as if it had been left there on purpose. I was staying with my 12 year old son, so I really didn’t want to come across that. That’s why I’m giving it three stars.

The one bright spot was Amber at check-in. She was awesome. The manager, though, acted irritated when I raised the mold on the wall, which was leaking down it and gave me a headache when I woke up after our first night. We were there for two days, and there was no room service either day. Maintenance came in while we were out and painted over the mold. When I told the manager that hadn’t fixed the problem, she seemed bothered again and said she’d move us if a room was available. My husband and I had one of the worst hotel stays we can remember. I could say a lot more, but I’ll leave it there. If you stay, I hope your experience is better.
