We'd stay here again, 100%. The rooms were clean with lovely decor, and it was quiet even though the hotel is by the freeway. There's plenty of parking and the signs are good. Staff were great, though they could use a few more people. There isn't a lobby restroom, and breakfast came as a coupon for McD's.
The room was very clean and well kept, and the price is hard to beat, especially with the economy the way it is. The service staff were kind and really nice, and went out of their way to accommodate what I needed during my stay. I appreciated that, and I'm very happy with my room.
The check-in guy was nice and efficient, and the room looked decent. I had a handicapped room with a nice hand shower. But when I got into bed I actually chuckled, the cheap, springy mattress had such a weak side that I'll use the extra pillows as a wedge so I don't roll onto the floor. Come on, Red Roof. This was my fourth night on the road, and the first truly crappy bed I've run into, though the room wasn't the cheapest.
We stayed one night with my girlfriend, and the $66 price for two beds was great. The room was clean, and the ladies at the concierge were really nice, especially "Rena" when we checked out. You can tell they want guests to be pleased. There was quite a bit of I-90 noise, as others have mentioned, but it wasn't enough to keep most people awake. The shower head made an annoying squeak while we showered, though that should be an easy fix. The stay was comfortable, the location was good, and parking was decent, with lots of fast food and convenience stores close by. It's only three blocks from the casino and two miles from Peach St exit. We'll definitely stay again soon.
I booked through a third party for my husband and his cousin, thinking this Red Roof Inn was close to where my husband needed to be the next day. I don't know the area, and about an hour after booking I realized it was 45 minutes away. The third party was happy to help cancel so I could book four nights at a closer Red Roof Inn, but they needed approval from the hotel. They emailed the hotel with the explanation and suggested I call too. I called at least ten times last night and nobody answered, despite the website saying there was 24-hour desk service. I tried several other numbers without getting help. This morning I tried repeatedly again, waiting another five to ten minutes between attempts because I thought they might be busy. It took at least eight to ten more calls before someone picked up. I explained what happened, but she was hateful and kept talking over me. She said absolutely not, they wouldn't refund me, and that they could cancel the reservation but I'd lose the $100+ I'd paid. She told me to call the manager in the morning, but said it would be too late for them to do anything. I would never stay here, even though we use a lot of Red Roof Inns. I've never been treated so rudely or talked down to by an employee at one of these hotels. The way she spoke to me left a bad taste in my mouth. I think the corporation that owns the name should expect its employees to treat people better. If they won't give a refund, they should at least be polite about it. Whoever works the front desk and won't answer the phone should take a course in proper etiquette for working in a business. I don't appreciate being talked down to. Be aware.
