I paid $108 plus a $30 deposit, and it was a terrible stay. I had to buy cleaning supplies, clean the room myself, and get different bedding. I wouldn’t even have put my dog on the bedding they provided. They looked for reasons not to return the deposit. I’ve never stayed somewhere worse, and I won’t go back or recommend it to anyone, not even my worst enemy. For that price, I could have stayed at the casino hotel.

The room itself was $42, which is fair for a run-down motel, but taxes added another $18. They also wanted a $30 cash deposit without giving me a receipt. I wasn’t sure I’d get it back, and it took a 30-minute wait, but they did return it. You almost need an interpreter to understand what they’re saying. I won’t stay there again.

The new carpet may be the only thing I’d call redeeming. Our room had a rat, which our cat caught and killed the first night, and there were roaches too. The AC units seemed full of mold and mildew, the shower curtains and tubs had black mold, and the pillows and mattresses looked badly stained and left to rot. There were burn marks on the sheets, pillowcases, and just about everything else. Bring your own bedding if you end up here. Some shower heads didn’t work, and most of the refrigerators didn’t work either, even though staff told us they did. There were no fire alarms, which I understand is a federal problem. They advertise that pets are allowed, but they treated us badly for having a cat. A staff member screamed at and verbally abused my wife because her emotional support animal was a cat. They also don’t return card deposits. I’ve been trying to get ours back for four months and keep getting excuses. I’ve heard locals know to pay cash and be ready to argue to get the deposit back. They still tried to keep ours, and it was hard enough with cash, but a card makes it easier for them to keep it. They may count on people leaving Eufaula and forgetting. We were insulted, yelled at, and belittled, then asked when we’d be coming back. If you absolutely have to stay here, pay cash and be prepared to push for the deposit. Don’t bring a cat, and don’t expect a clean room just because the carpet looks new. In my view, this place should be shut down, and people whose card deposits were taken should be reimbursed.

The room was nice, but I found hair in the bathtub. When I asked a worker yesterday for extra towels, they were very rude.

We like supporting locally owned small-town businesses, so this motel suited us. It’s in a convenient spot in Eufaula, OK, and the rate was reasonable for the area. Our room was simple and tidy, and the staff and management were courteous and helpful.
