Breakfast had plenty of choices, and the price was hard to beat for what we got. The hotel is in a convenient location, parking was easy, and it felt quiet and safe. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well cared for. The beds were comfy, the AC worked great, and everything else worked as it should. Staff were friendly and helpful from check-in, and it was clear they take pride in keeping things running smoothly. I’d happily stay at the Quality Inn in Eufaula again and recommend it to anyone passing through or visiting the area.

I booked a queen suite for two nights while traveling alone with my four kids. The doors looked as if they’d been kicked in, and the top latches were broken, so I didn’t feel safe staying another night. The washer in the guest laundry was broken, but there was no sign, and I lost $4 in quarters finding that out. Staff mistook my child’s stuffed monkey for a small dog, even though we don’t have a pet, then called my personal cell while I was in the room instead of coming by or using the room phone. Employees walked past and looked in the windows while I was packing to leave, and one commented on my children. My child was playing by the window as I packed. The emergency was that an employee was creeping around my room when the broken door lock meant he could have opened it with a key card. I checked out the next morning, but they charged me for both nights. After I posted my review, I saw they refunded the second night, and I appreciate that. The hotel needs major upgrades. There are nicer places in town, and I don’t recommend it.

Breakfast was the worst part of our stay. On the second morning, the staff member or owner came into the dining room and yelled at guests he thought had taken his continental breakfast, apparently over a cup. My father and other guests told him he shouldn’t yell at customers, so he yelled at them too and argued. My mother was trying to get juice, but there were no juice cups, while he was busy policing the breakfast instead of stocking them. The handmade sign saying food couldn’t be taken out of the breakfast area was strange, and there was an enormous industrial trash bin in the dining room. The rooms were passable, but the so-called suite was clearly two rooms joined by a hole cut through the wall. It was too narrow to feel like a proper doorway, and my arms could brush both sides. In the bathroom, the faucet dripped constantly, the toilets were tiny and awkward to use, and the door setup made getting in and out difficult. Hallways were dark, with water dripping onto the floor from a broken ice machine. The gym had a sign saying it was closed for a few days, though one day I saw a man who, looking back, seemed to be the owner or staff member exercising inside alone. Uneven concrete in several spots seemed like a fall risk for my aging mother. The pages of the hotel guide binder were filthy and stuck together. We’d meant to book a nicer hotel we’d stayed at before, but a mix-up brought us here. This was the worst hotel service experience of my life. I plan to contact corporate, and I think this location should lose its franchise and be removed from the Choice hotels line, or be closed.

We were exhausted after a long day on the road and couldn’t keep traveling, so we stopped for the night with our family. I don’t usually stay in motels, and the homes and lake nearby had left me with high expectations. I didn’t know the area, and we hadn’t seen any other hotels. At first, from the rooms nearest the office, I thought it would be okay for one night. Our room was in the back, though, and that area felt kind of scary after dark. Inside, the room was dated but clean, or at least smelled clean. The sheets and pillowcases had cigarette burn holes, and the bathroom faucet was completely broken off, so we couldn’t shower.

The service was phenomenal, and the manager and staff were really helpful and friendly. The rooms are priced accordingly, and breakfast was decent with a nice range of food.
