Executive Motel

We had three rooms for the weekend because this was the only motel with enough space for my group. The place looks good outside, but the rooms were cramped and dirty, especially for over a hundred dollars a night. In 108 the TV didn’t work Friday. On Saturday, 102 still had sound but no picture. The TV in 107 worked, though lines ran through the screen, and the faucet handle came off within ten minutes. There was also a wind chime behind the door, not sure why. Saturday evening my daughter found a bed bug on her pillow in 107. Looking closer, she noticed a hole in the comforter and blood spots inside. She slept in her car, then went to the store in the morning for garbage bags for her clothes and bags. Unless you’re desperate, I don’t recommend it.

The room was in terrible shape, with peeled up, disgusting floors and a ceiling above the bed that had leaked from rain damage and was hanging down. The water in the shower barely got warm, and when I called because there was no washcloth, they said they don’t provide them and that I should use a hand towel. I went to the office to ask about coffee and was told to walk down the street to 7-Eleven, since they had none there. There were no ice buckets or ice machine either, so the little refrigerator was the only way to keep drinks cold, with no ice for them. It felt like a homeless camp with people off the streets. I reported it to booking.com and here. Don’t stay here. Go to motel 6, where they at least have coffee and wash past in your room, and I think the ceiling probably isn’t falling down.

The owner, or at least the woman I assumed was the owner, knocked at 10 am asking whether I was staying another night or checking out early. She walked away rudely, saying check out was at 11, which was when I planned to leave. It felt like they’d raised weekend rates and wanted people out sooner, but we’d paid to stay and that isn’t my problem. The bed was really uncomfortable, and the comforter had a strong smell like some kind of fake rose. I wouldn’t stay here again.

There was screaming and yelling through all hours of the night, and by checkout we were itching like crazy. The rooms were smaller than advertised, and the beds were dirty, like someone had just tossed the covers over a mess. There was random hair in the beds too. For what I paid, it wasn’t worth the time, money, or lost peace of mind.
