Hampton Inn Eugene

I was glad my stay was only one night. The man who checked me in was personable and very nice, and the room was spacious and clean. It’s also a short drive from the Eugene airport. But I couldn’t get proper rest because there was noise all night: people stomping overhead, two men talking loudly in the hall, doors slamming, and traffic from the road my room faced. Maybe a top-floor room at the end of an empty hallway would be quieter, but otherwise I can’t recommend it.

That bed was hard as a rock, and the pool made my husband’s and my skin itch badly. The place was tiny and run down, with cracks in the ceiling, and there wasn’t even a hot tub. I’ve stayed at some really nice Hamptons, so this one left me unimpressed. The price was jacked up and nowhere near worth it. We’ll look elsewhere if we come back to Eugene.

Great rooms, a clean place, and a good location. Breakfast could use work, though. The eggs are like a rubber pile. Surely it wouldn’t cost that much to get a better fake egg.

We’ll pay extra for comfort next time, and Hampton saved us on Friday night. We came here right after leaving HomeTowne Studios By Red Roof Eugene - Springfield, where the room smelled strongly of cheap disinfectant and had a disgusting bed with a dead bug on the mattress. Finding a reasonably priced place that isn’t a dump in Eugene is hard, especially when parents visit during peak times. This room had a king bed with plenty of plush pillows, was very clean, and had no strange smells. The bed was comfortable, as Hilton-branded hotels usually are for us. It’s farther from campus, but worth the extra money.
