Hyatt Place Eugene / Oakway Center

The rooms are spacious and beautiful, and the $11 breakfast was amazing. The kitchen staff were welcoming and did a great job. But the sky bar is overpriced, and the bartender was rude. The front desk person wasn't kind at all when checking us in, and we didn't feel welcome. Our first time in Eugene and at this hotel will also be our last. There are too many rules, and it didn't feel like a home away from home.

Room 604 stinks. Its mini fridge is broken, and so is the one in 605. There's no microwave, and the coffee station feels outdated and as cheap as it gets. The “blankets” may be the two thinnest bedding items ever put on a bed. Good luck figuring out the complicated TV. There are no fans and the windows don't open. I didn't need or ask for the handicapped shower, and it leaks halfway into the other room, which isn't ideal.

This is the second time I've stayed here, and both times the hot tub has been closed for repairs. It's cold, my back is having the worst muscle spasms, and I was so looking forward to using it. It's a newer property, so why is the hot tub down? I have to give the place the lowest possible rating.

Two months after our first visit, we came back. We checked in at 6pm on Jan 24, and the two front desk staff were friendly and helpful. I'd made a mistake with the date on my third party booking, and they were patient while helping me sort it out. The location is excellent, inside a mall with restaurants and nice stores. There's also a Tesla supercharger just a few steps away. Self-parking is on level 4, and the room card gives access.
