Ramada Bayside Inn & Suites Eureka

The room problems started with a rusty bedside lamp and a burned-out bulb. It took about an hour to get someone from the nearby Super8, which has the same owner, to come fix it, and the repair itself took 20 minutes. Extra pillows and towels for the second person took another 10 minutes. The remote check-in agent was hard to understand, the ID scanner didn't work, and checking in took longer than doing it with a person. I could only see the current reservation, so I had to point out the one-day extension I'd added. This place shouldn't be using the Ramada name just because the price is low. I also couldn't tell whether anyone was available at night. It felt like management was being handled by someone watching a screen from home after around 2 pm. I filed a formal complaint and got a reply accusing me of posting negative reviews to pressure them for compensation, then saying they wouldn't compensate me and had put me on the Do Not Rent list for both Ramada Bayside Inn & Suites Eureka and Super 8 in Eureka. I had prepaid for four nights and wasn't going to spend more money moving. The agent was only on the property once a day and had mouthed off to me in front of my wife, so I don't know how I was supposed to report problems when nobody was there. I've traveled for over 20 years, and I say what happened, not to get a free night. I never said or implied I wanted one. That guy is delusional. I don't care about being on the Do Not Rent list. This was a one-time trip through Eureka, and there are plenty of other places to stay. It left a bad taste in my mouth. If I come back to town, I'll remember this experience. You've been warned.
