Residence Inn by Marriott Evansville East

Breakfast was a highlight, with something different each day, including oatmeal and lots of topping choices. The rooms were large, with plenty of space to stretch, and it was great that pets are allowed and the rooms are somewhat pet resistant. This place was nicer than some other hotels I've tried in Evansville. The cleaning service was spotty, though: our room wasn't cleaned at all during the three days we were there.

The breakfast setup felt like a rip-off disguised as a service. We paid for breakfast at check-in, then learned from the front desk the next day that it covered only one hot item, one cold item, and one plain drink: coffee, juice, milk, or water. We had been told it was buffet style and cost $12 each. After traveling from NC to UT and back through 11 states, and staying at five other hotels charging over $200 a night, we expected unlimited choices like bagels or bread, eggs, oatmeal, milk, coffee, water or juice, fruit, Greek yogurt, cereal, pastries, and waffles. Instead there was a gatekeeper taking orders, a line to place one, and an extra charge added to the room. The gatekeeper promised it wouldn't be charged to the room, but asked for our room number anyway, and the charge appeared on our checkout itemization. It took 20 minutes to resolve. This place e is trash. We'll never stay at a Marriott again, and I urge everyone to do the same.

We booked several rooms for family coming to a wedding because we needed separate spaces. My relative checked in two hours before me and ran into issues, so I called to verify my reservation. They told me there wouldn't be a problem, even though they'd tried to give our room to someone else. No one mentioned a room change. When I arrived, they said they'd upgraded me to a newly refurbished room, but there were no suites left, including the suite on my reservation. I was beside myself. The room they called renovated had two window air conditioning units, 1980s-style bathroom mirror lighting, and a mirror broken in places. How is that newly renovated? It wasn't clean, either. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

The location was excellent, with several nice restaurants nearby, and I had no issues during my night there on 09/03/2025. The front desk staff were very nice and made me feel welcome. My room was clean and as nice as I expected from a Marriott hotel. Several rooms were being remodeled, and the pool was closed. I'd stay there again.
