Westmark Fairbanks Hotel & Conference Center

When our flight plans changed at the last minute, the polite, professional staff accommodated us without a charge. That was a big help. The Westmark was also comfortable and conveniently located near the airport and central Fairbanks. We ate at the happy husky, where the food was great and fairly priced for the quality. I only wish the room had a microwave. We’d definitely stay here again.

The location worked really well, with restaurants and shopping close by. Wi-Fi was fast and reliable, and breakfast had a tasty selection. My room was clean, comfortable, and well cared for, with a cozy bed and a spotless bathroom. Fresh towels were provided daily. The staff were friendly and helpful during my stay. Good value for the money, and I’d happily come back and recommend it.

I’m here again for work, and once more the TV has frozen and the remote won’t work. It won’t even shut off, so I’m waiting to see if I can get it running and may have to unplug it. Maintenance was too busy to help, and the front desk apologized but had no other room to offer. That’s on top of Wi-Fi that rarely works, and when it does, it’s slow and spotty. The breakfast buffet costs too much. The main restaurant is just okay, though the fries are superb. The lobby shop has been closed for months for “Maintenance.” After several winter visits, I only stay because work requires it. Not a good place for a business traveler, unless you’re just looking for somewhere to sleep while spending little time in the room.

The Apple Crisp is a must try. I wish I’d had another stomach so I could eat more! The staff were kind and attentive, and the rooms are comfy. We did have a fire alarm go off, but with the weather being so wild, it was understandable. They’re about to start renovations, so I can’t wait to come back and see how it turns out. We had a great stay.
