Knights Inn Fairview

The front desk staff were helpful and welcoming, but after check-in everything went downhill. This was the nastiest place I've stayed, and I stay in a lot of hotels for work. There wasn't a single towel, and they handed me toilet paper at check-in, so at least I had that. No soap either. The room door didn't lock. The beds were the cleanest thing there. They weren't fancy, but most of the bedding seemed clean. One bed's skirt had what I assume was dried vomit on it, matching the dried vomit on the carpet. The bathroom and area in front of the sink looked like they hadn't been mopped in ages, with hair and sticky mess all over. The surfaces hadn't been wiped either. The microwave was gross, and my kids could teach the staff how to vacuum. I was told this was the only room left. If that's the case, just tell people you're booked. I'd sleep in my pickup next time rather than stay here.

The stockyard on the other side of the fence had a distinct smell as soon as we pulled up. That was understandable, but then my 4 year old and I went into the office to rent a room, and he asked to go back outside because it stank in there. The stockyard smelled better than the office. Bring a clothespin for your nose if you plan to stay. I had to give a star because zero wasn't an option.

The smell inside and outside was horrible, and the furniture was torn up. The chair cushion was cracked and ripped. We booked for one night but didn't stay. As soon as we opened the door, roaches scattered, and there was already one dead on the floor after we'd taken two steps in. I should've checked the reviews first. The front desk said they couldn't refund us because of policy, though I hadn't signed anything and couldn't find the policy posted. I went back the next morning to ask for the manager, but apparently there wasn't one. By then there was a no-refund sign. Absolute roach motel. Don't stay here. I'd give zero stars if I could.

Great prices, and the nicest people run this place. They really go above and beyond for their customers.
