We go to a bed and breakfast each year for our birthdays and have stayed at quite a few. Choosing The Palmer House this time was a great call. We booked three nights in the Teddy Roosevelt room, with its king bed, jetted tub, and cozy fireplace. The guest house has its own private entrance and isn't attached to the main house, which gave us privacy. From arrival to departure, everything was just right. Breakfast was a highlight. Each morning they delivered a menu, and when we asked to eat in our room, they were happy to leave our choices outside. There's a dining room if you prefer to eat there. They were generous with breakfast, including a large carafe of coffee. The inn is a six-minute walk from town and its shops and restaurants, and only ten minutes from the ferry. Tom and Billy were excellent hosts, knew the area well, and gave us great suggestions. We have three dogs and two cats, so we loved their dog Zeus, a huge but gentle Leonberger who welcomed our affection. It's a lovely spot to relax and unwind. Highly recommend, and we're looking forward to going back.

The location made it easy to walk to downtown shops and restaurants, the museum next door, and the library. My wife and I also enjoyed strolling through town, the nearby neighborhoods, and along the water, as well as biking the nearby trail toward Bourne and Woods Hole. The inn and grounds are beautiful, service was attentive, and the dining room breakfast each day was excellent. Availability meant we had to change rooms during our four-night stay. The Herman Melville room, room 7, was spacious with a much larger, nicely appointed bathroom. The James Fenimore Cooper room, room 3, was quite small. Its four-poster bed had an overhead canopy that blocked the ceiling fan's airflow. One suggestion I gave the owner was about the very bright LED light in the front yard. When you're sitting on the porch in the evening, it shines right into your eyes and takes away from the atmosphere. I also shared suggestions about room 3 and hope they're considered.

The homemade breakfast was delicious, and the rooms were very clean. The inn is beautifully decorated, and the innkeepers were friendly and helpful. It's close to shops and restaurants, too. We enjoyed our stay a lot, and I plan to return to this charming, quaint place. They pay attention to the little details.

We chose the Palmer House Inn for our 29th anniversary and arrived late because of traffic, but the owners welcomed us warmly. The atmosphere was inviting, and the place was very clean and quiet. It was the best B&B we've stayed at, with the best breakfast ever and wonderful hospitality. We loved it and will be back. If you're after a friendly, super clean B&B in a great location, I can't say enough about it. Thank you ❤️

The Palmer House Inn's elopement package turned out to be a dream come true. It included flowers, a champagne toast, cake, a wonderful minister, Billy, and photography by Tom. Tom and Billy made planning easy from the start. They were kind, helpful, and flexible about letting me bring my own arch and a few small decorations to make the day feel personal. I stayed in the Cottage, which was spotless, cozy, and beautiful, like a little romantic escape. The inn is well maintained and has a warm, welcoming feel. We also went to Martha's Vineyard as part of the package and had a lovely picnic. The setting is peaceful and safe, and it's convenient for walking downtown to shop and eat. Breakfast each morning was so good. Everything was more than I imagined, and the place and staff were incredible. They even accommodated my daughter's tree nut allergy, which was the icing on the cake. I couldn't recommend the inn enough for an elopement or intimate getaway.
