My Place Hotel - Fargo, ND

Our hockey team found bugs in four rooms over the weekend. People were moved around, while some left and were told no refund unless the hotel's bug inspector found bugs. We were told by the third party inspector that none were found. An entire hockey team doesn't travel somewhere and complain about something nonexistent just to get cheap or free rooms. I'd seriously reconsider staying. A hotel with five rooms found to have bedbugs over a weekend should tell arriving guests. It needs fumigating before anyone stays there. While searching for bugs, we also found glass under a mattress. The floors looked as though they hadn't been vacuumed in months. This has probably ruined the whole franchise for us; we won't stay in one again.

This is my 3rd bad experience at this hotel. The room was terrible: someone's pissy shorts were behind the bathroom door, hair was all over the bed, and there was no soap in the shower. The front desk woman was VERY RUDE. As we left, the corner of our cart bumped the door, hardly hitting it, but it nearly fell on my 5 year old son. The woman said she was going to call the cops and kept being rude. We sat to wait for them, but she tried to make us leave. When she realised they were at fault, she was apparently trying to cover herself. The “ceo” and the front desk woman were awful. She came out taking pictures of us and our car and threatening us. A little bump shouldn't make a perfectly fine door fall to the ground. I know they must have felt beyond stupid after looking at the video footage, which is why she tried to get us to leave and act civil after all the things she did. I hope she is fired!

My girlfriend checked in Friday night, January 16th, and woke on January 17th to find bed bugs in room 315. That's the same room named in an earlier complaint. She has photos with timestamps and location data, and the polite person at the front desk also took pictures. She was told she'd be compensated, though it could take several weeks. She had to move to another hotel. With tournaments making it a busy weekend, the only place she could find cost $300 a night. It's sad the hotel rented out that room without checking it thoroughly. Clearly there's a bed bug infestation here, and I hope she's paid back promptly.

The staff were friendly, but the room was a complete dump. We could hear the front desk person through the door, and the room smelled like wet dog all night. The fan didn't help. There wasn't any soap in the bathroom, just body wash, so we had to use that to wash our hands. The toilet had poop stains and clearly hadn't been cleaned. The beds had lumps and the pillows were flat. I absolutely wouldn't recommend it. Spend the extra $20 somewhere else and cut your losses.
