Delta Hotels by Marriott Fargo

We used this place for a little birthday staycation for my daughter. Check-in and checkout at 3p-12p worked well for us, and the front desk gal was so friendly and kind when we arrived. The kids loved the warm pool and waterslide and didn't want to leave. The chlorine was pretty strong. After a while it stung my eyes even though I was only watching, and my daughter got a bad chlorine rash despite showering afterward. Our suite could've been cleaned better too. I found an empty pop bottle on the floor and something in the mini fridge freezer.

The people cleaning the room kept walking right in, which was really awkward. Once, while my mom was showering, a maintenance guy came in without knocking and said, "well you guys are taking too long". Then this morning, when checkout was at 12:30, a woman knocked around 10:00 and immediately came in. People make mistakes, so it's not a huge deal, but it felt awkward. The room was okay and smelled great. I found a few hairs here and there, and the pull out couch was REALLY stained, but otherwise it was very clean. Prices were good, and the restaurants were good too.

The staff and location were excellent, but I wouldn't stay here again. I travel weekly for work and usually stay with Marriott, so I've seen plenty of their hotels. The Courtyard near the hospital in Fargo is excellent. This place, though, was in poor repair and not clean enough for a good stay. The rooms are quite dated, which by itself wouldn't bother me, but the showers are very short. I'm 6'3”, so showers often aren't quite my height. Worse, the tub wouldn't drain, and my coworker had the same issue in her room. The window curtains and furniture had stains, and everything just felt dated.

Manny was awesome. He upgraded our room for free, and everyone at the front desk was great. They let us check in an hour early and check out two hours late without extra fees. The pool may have been a bit overchlorinated on Sunday, but everything else was amazing. Awesome staff!
