Staybridge Suites Fargo by IHG

The breakfast was one of the best I've ever had at a hotel, with loads of options and plenty of coffee. The bacon ran out early and they only replaced it with the one meat they had left, but there was still lots of variety. The front desk gentleman was quick and personable, and the woman running the buffet worked hard. Our suite was mostly clean, though the bathroom needed cleaning behind the door. When we got the bedding for the pullout couch, there was a huge yellow stain on it. The front desk brought replacement bedding promptly.

I wasn't staying at the hotel. My husband was making a delivery there, and I went inside to use the bathroom while I was having chest pain and an asthma attack. Receptionist Jasmine checked whether I was okay and showed real concern for my well-being. She went well beyond her duties. I want her to get the recognition she deserves. We won't stay here again. I would advise against it for anyone with children or neurodivergence or a disability. They are not disability friendly at all. We called ahead to ask for a quiet room because we were traveling with our 19-month-old and my husband has a head injury and is sensitive to noise. At midnight, the GM had subcontractors plowing the parking lot with heavy machinery. The noise woke all three of us from a deep sleep. The front desk said there was nothing they could do when we asked what was happening and whether it had to be done that night. My husband went out to ask the drivers how much longer they'd be. They swore at him and flailed their hands aggressively. He felt threatened, recorded them, and we filed a police report. Two patrol cars came, but the snow removal workers left before finishing, with several parking spaces still unplowed. The officers agreed that snow removal isn't above the law. We understand plows, as we're from northern Michigan, but this was prolonged, loud machinery late at night. When we told the GM what happened, he blamed my husband for antagonizing the contractors. He said he wasn't responsible for them, defended them by saying he knew them, and said he was okay with them swearing at my husband. He called nighttime plowing normal and asked when else they were supposed to do it. He made clear he didn't care that guests had been woken at midnight or want to make things right. My husband had a bad migraine the next day from the lack of sleep, and because of his head injury we couldn't continue our trip and had to stay another night. When I asked about a policy for an unsatisfactory stay, the GM kept saying he didn't know and there was nothing he could do. He denied there was any remedy and seemed to just want us to leave. His response was unprofessional and harmed my family's well-being.

SS Fargo sits among industrial, residential, and commercial areas, and its location is convenient for the things you might need or want to visit. The suites are very nice, with a kitchen and sitting area. Josh at the front desk made check-in great. Breakfast was good, with perfectly fried bacon and fresh sliced fruit. There's also a dry sauna.
