Hawthorn Suites By Wyndham Detroit Farmington Hills

I stayed for a month, and at this price it’s about as good as you’ll find. The building feels old, though things seemed clean, especially the sheets and towels. I rarely eat breakfast, but it was available every day with plenty of choices. Laundry worked perfectly, and it was quiet the whole time. The only recurring hassle was housekeeping sometimes forgetting fresh towels. I could just pick some up at the front desk, so it wasn’t a big deal. The TV wasn’t useful, and I wouldn’t expect much from it or the cable. Still, the place was quite livable.

For $85, I was happy with the room and its amenities. It was clean and well kept, with a comfortable queen bed, good shower pressure, and no bugs. The heat and air unit let me set the temperature where I wanted it. There was a lot in the kitchenette too: a full refrigerator with an ice maker, microwave, two-burner stovetop, dishwasher, toaster, and coffee maker, plus a hair dryer. I’ll be here for a few weeks, so I’m glad I found this place.

I was only there long enough to get my hair and makeup done for my sister’s wedding, so I can’t really speak to the service. But the suite itself was gorgeous and cozy. I was surprised by how large the kitchenette was, and there was a table for eating too. Five stars for the room.

The suite was roomy, with decent amenities, a modern bathroom, and a patio where we could relax and talk with our friends. But the cleaning was awful. Trash and dried rose petals were scattered in every corner during COVID, as if nobody had moved a chair to clean. The plates and silverware were so disgusting we didn’t touch them. My wife and I had booked the one-bedroom suite for one night with another couple.
