Budget Inn Farmington

I almost never review a budget motel unless there’s something to say about safety, but Budget Inn in Farmington, NY deserves an exception. The room was roomy and very clean, with comfortable, clean bedding and a safe feel. It had plenty of accessible plugs, which mattered with a CPAP user and our digital devices. There was also adequate lighting, a refrigerator/freezer, and a microwave. The shower had great water pressure, and even the shower mat was unusually large. Parking was as expected. Don’t rule out this little place, it was delightful.

Spend your money somewhere else. My room, #1, was right beside the main office, and from 6am to 7am I heard people talking and things banging against the wall. At 6am it sounded like a party was happening in the office. The refrigerator was full of water and didn’t work when I arrived, and the beds were so hard the concrete floor might have felt softer. The fire extinguisher beside the office door was held in place with duct tape. Definitely not worth it.

At Budget Inn, I found a clean, comfortable room that was well maintained and a great value. I especially appreciated having so many outlets within easy reach. I didn’t have to shift furniture or unplug lamps to charge my devices, which I’ve never had to do in a hotel room before. I’d gladly stay again.

We could park right outside our room at this small, family-owned motel, which was just right for our cross-country trip. It’s a single-story place with 20 rooms, affordable, clean, comfortable, no-frills, and dog-friendly. The beds were very comfortable and the heating worked very well. I’d love to stay again if we come back this way.
