My only complaint was the lack of coffee and hot water in the lobby in the evening. I think I’ll be billed for the coffee the hostess gave me. Nearly every hotel I’ve stayed in has complimentary coffee, even the roach hotels without breakfast, and this lobby has a place for the carafes. It would be easy to provide that basic hotel staple. Otherwise, I was generally pleased. The room was clean and quiet, I enjoyed the complimentary cookie, and breakfast was good. I had eggs, bacon, fruit, and a good coffee.
I was here for a few days on business, and the service was wonderful. Everyone from check-in to checkout was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The hotel is conveniently located in a shopping center, the rooms are nice, and there are plenty of places to eat within walking distance if you want alternatives to the food at the hotel. I enjoyed walking around the center with the mountains in the background. It’s a quick ride from SLC, and I couldn’t have asked for a better stay.
Since I can’t reply directly, I’ll answer your message here. No one offered to let us come back within seven days. That’s false. Collin also never told me to bring the certificate. I still have it. This was a surreal and truly unfortunate experience. I rarely write reviews because it seems like people often have an axe to grind. After four deaths in our immediate family, we were finally ready to do something for ourselves, so we bought a package to support a local charity. The certificate had expired a few weeks before we made the reservation, but the GM accepted its number and authorized the booking. When we arrived tonight, we were told we had to produce the certificate. The GM hadn’t told us that, and had accepted the number as proof of possession on the initial call. We offered to pay for tonight’s room and bring the certificate on Monday, which seemed like a reasonable compromise. They refused, and I was flabbergasted. The night supervisor wouldn’t contact Collin, the GM, even though she admitted she’d just spoken with him. She said she wouldn’t call or text on our behalf and doubted he’d take a call, adding, “he is too important.” She wouldn’t let me explain, said she’d heard enough, then turned and walked off. She also refused to give me her name, and the desk staff wouldn’t tell me what it was. When I asked whether this was a policy decision, she said yes. That’s curious, since Collin had been willing to give us a few extra weeks, which would violate policy. Clearly the GM has authority to do that, but he refused. My wife read other reviews and it looks like management has lost focus on customer service. Hopefully corporate reads negative reviews and reaches out. This location has a problem.
The hotel is centrally located for shops, good dining, and other fun amenities, and the stay was good until an alarm kept disrupting us. On 11/14/2025-11/15/2025, the fire alarm went off around 12:30am. We got out of the building and waited for the fire personnel to give the all-clear. I understand the system may have detected an event in the pool area when there wasn’t one. At the front desk there was a lot of confusion. One staff member was trying to find out where the situation was, while the clerk seemed panicked instead of helping the guests gathering in the lobby. These situations are scary, but this should have been handled differently. While we waited for the fire department, nobody told us what to do, what had happened beyond the obvious, or what would happen next. Once things were cleared, the clerk gave an almost silent, exasperated notice that we could return to the building and our rooms. The alarm started going off periodically again around 6:30am, so we ended our stay earlier than planned. Future guests would benefit from instructions in the welcome papers explaining what to do in an emergency and what to expect from staff. It’s surprising this hasn’t been added, given how long the hotel has been around. With the disorganization and lack of communication, we won’t be back anytime soon.
Four days after our two-night stay over Valentine’s Day and our anniversary, a $250 “miscellaneous cleaning fee” appeared on our card. There was no notice, explanation at checkout, or communication beforehand. We’re very respectful guests and even gathered and removed our trash before leaving, so this substantial charge with no transparency or justification feels misleading and dishonest. It ruined what was meant to be a special, memorable getaway. Unexpected charges after a stay, without a clear explanation, are unacceptable. We won’t stay here again.
