A wonderful place to stay, with a very clean room and friendly staff. I recommend it. They allow dogs for a small fee. Housekeeping isn't done daily, but I'm fine with keeping my own room tidy. The front desk closes early, though there's a night person to call in an emergency.

We liked the courtyard and the fire table, and the stay was decent overall, especially under new management. Still, we probably won't stay here next time. We checked in on Christmas Eve for four days, after a 15-hour trip, and the room smelled like cooked fish and didn't seem clean. We were tired and put up with it that night. The next day we found there was no shower curtain, the kitchen dishes had only been rinsed and put back dirty, and one pillow had blood on it. There wasn't much staff around.

My 81-year-old father and his wife paid for three nights at stayAPT Suites and completed online check-in, but after arriving after 11 p.m. they couldn't get into the hotel or their room. There had been no email, text, or call with after-hours instructions or directions for getting a key from the lockbox. Their app key didn't work, and the lockbox was empty. Another guest outside said his digital key wasn't working either and that he'd entered through a back door, a serious safety concern. My parents didn't know there was a manager or staff on site, and no one helped them access the room they'd paid for. They ended up sleeping in their truck all night. This happened in a city known for safety concerns, and something tragic could easily have happened. Management still hadn't returned calls or made things right the next day. The rooms were nice, but service and management failed badly here. This showed no communication, care, or responsibility. With proper procedures and communication, it could have been avoided. We have requested a refund for the night they couldn't stay, and want other guests, especially older travelers, to know what happened. This was a serious safety issue, not just an inconvenience, and should never happen at a hotel.

The price was much lower than many hotels in the city, and I enjoyed my one-night stay enough to plan on returning. The location is excellent, with lots to do and places to eat nearby. The building was quiet and clean throughout, including the lobby, elevators, hallways, and my room. Though I was only there one night, the apartment-style setup seems ideal for longer stays: a full kitchen with an oven, island and barstools, sink and cooking utensils, plus a couch that pulls out into a bed.
