The dining room was like a ski lodge, with a fire going all day and night and big windows looking out at the surrounding pine trees. The hotel sits on a hill overlooking Woodland Village, and the setting was surprisingly picturesque and peaceful, especially in the middle of the busy Christmas holiday. The holiday decorations were lovely, too. Bonnie, the manager, was quietly everywhere, pitching in at the front desk, kitchen, dining area, and with guests and staff. She went above and beyond, solved problems with a genuine can-do attitude, and always had a pleasant hello. The building feels solid and well built. We sometimes heard crying kids or a barking dog in the corridor, but once inside our room we heard nothing. Maybe it was the solid doors and good insulation, but we slept like babies. It's a non-smoking property, and the place smelled simply fresh, not like cleaning products or too much Febreze. It was spotless, and you could see the pride in the service, cleanliness, and decor. Definitely not your average Comfort Inn.

After a long 12-hour drive, all we wanted was a good night's sleep, and that's what we got. Check-in was smooth and easy, and everyone at the front desk and on staff was welcoming. The hotel allows pets, and the fee was very reasonable. Breakfast had plenty of satisfying choices and was excellent. My mom really enjoys breakfast and loved it. The stay became a sweet memory for us. Bravo to the Comfort Inn team!

We arrived after midnight without reservations, tired from a long drive, and Ashley got us into a room quickly and easily. She was kind, professional, and efficient, and understood we just needed to rest. The place was clean and organized, and the service was excellent. We'll make this our go-to when we're in Flagstaff. I'd been frustrated before arriving because I'm a Hilton Honors member of over 15 years, and the man at the Hampton across the street wouldn't try to find us a room or direct us to another Hampton. He was dismissive and unprofessional. I rang the bell four times before he opened the doors, and I believe he had been sleeping in the back. I expected the same treatment from Ashley at this Choice hotel, but I was wrong. Thank you, Ashley! My family and I will choose Choice hotels over Hampton in the future because of her.

The room was awesome, and there were no bed bugs or other bugs around. The staff were helpful and the service was fantastic. Breakfast was free, and there was bacon! Sadly, the next day they'd changed it to sausages instead. We tried the spa, and you should too. The place was at the end of I-17, pretty near Lowell Observatory.

The rooms were okay, but the whole stay felt disappointing after years of making this our regular stop on trips out west. This time the breakfast was so crowded and busy that we ate fast and took our coffee back to the room, instead of relaxing there early and watching the sunrise like we used to. The area has also gotten much busier, with more traffic, people, and panhandling. The apartments behind the hotel have never bothered us, but seeing shady-looking people constantly near the fence made us uncomfortable. We were on the far end, and I felt bad for guests on the other side. I don't blame the hotel, but travelers should know before booking. We used to love staying here, but probably won't book again.
