This is still a pretty good value. The rooms are clean, the price is right, and the staff are really friendly and helpful. A few small things keep it from being five stars. The coin laundry costs extra, and if you’re going to charge, they should let you use the room key. There was a mix-up with the room reservation, but the staff fixed it. Compared with the my value hotel chain, everything feels a little smaller and a bit more fake, though it’s all serviceable.
Xavier at the front desk and the older gentleman working in the morning helped turn things around with their service and quick thinking. Xavier even came up and changed our sheets himself when there was no housekeeping on duty. Seriously, give that kid a raise. We also got some money taken off our stay. Still, $180+ is a complete rip-off for this accommodation, and after leaving worried about bedbugs, I can’t recommend staying here. We booked based on good reviews and appealing photos. It was the last stop on our trip home, and we wanted a clean, safe place for the night. Instead, the hotel was dirty and overcrowded. The comforter was stained, torn, and dirty, and the floors looked like someone had taken a knife to them. The hotel was fully booked, so although it wasn’t very late, we couldn’t switch rooms. There was water throughout the hallways and elevators from pool guests, and a strong, funky smell in both. The walls were thin, the TV was quiet, the breakfast had been picked over, and the elevator wait was very long. I had a terrible La Quinta experience in 2022 and have talked about it ever since. I also had a horrible experience this year at the courtland grand hotel in ATL, also operated by Wyndham. I booked this one despite my better judgment because it was a busy weekend, and at this point I have a very poor impression of Wyndham hotels.
The staff were outstanding, especially Dion and Jessica. They made sure I got the right room and showed real concern for how I was doing and how my stay was going. The hotel was very clean and accommodating. Thanks for being such awesome people. The hotel is lucky to have you, and should give you a raise.
This was the worst place ever. Our room was 90 minutes past check-in time. At 3:11 pm, the front desk clerk told us, “We dont know when your room will be ready.” He said housekeeping had quit the night before, which immediately made us question how clean the room would be. I tried to cancel before check-in, but they said they couldn’t refund us because we paid through Expedia. We got the keys at 4:22 pm, went to the room, and it smelled like feces. Since it hadn’t been cleaned, we went to Walmart, bought cleaning supplies, and finished the job ourselves. After about four hours, my family couldn’t take the smell anymore. We loaded our bags onto a cart and left. Room 203, a Superior room, was completely unacceptable. When I got home from the most expensive half-day vacation ever, I filed for a refund through Expedia. They told me the property had upheld its cancellation policy and declined to waive it. Somebody is lying. Why tell Expedia you won’t cancel the room and give my money back? I’m not going away. I’m escalating this, and I won’t let you take my money for a room that smelled like that. You know you had MANY complaints on Sunday December 29th about the smell, and your lobby was packed. I’ll be seeing you real soon.
The room and hotel facilities were nice and clean, and the location was perfect. Having to pay for WiFi was a big bummer. In response to the hotel: that’s absolutely not what the gentleman at the front desk told us at check-in. He clearly said guests needed a particular membership status to get Wi-Fi, and that even joining during our stay wouldn’t get us to the required level. It would be helpful to make sure staff give guests accurate, consistent information.
