The Friendship Room worked well for my husband’s accessibility needs, and the first-floor location was a plus. Breakfast was a real highlight: he had a Belgian waffle with strawberry compote, breakfast potatoes, and sausage, while my scrambled eggs were cooked just right. Everything felt clean and cared for, and the owner came across as energetic and committed to the business. We’d never stayed at a bed and breakfast before, and Lakeside was a lovely introduction. There were a few small things we noticed. The closet smelled musty, but shutting the door kept it contained. Our room was over the boiler, so now and then there was a sound like air moving through pipes or a plunger. It wasn’t loud enough to keep us awake. The room also warmed up to 72 by morning even though the thermostat was set at 61; we’d been warned, so we took it in stride. There was only one chair, and we’d have liked a second one or a small loveseat since sitting on the bed for a long time isn’t comfortable for us. Still, we enjoyed our stay and would come back.

Breakfast on the porch, looking out over the lake, was wonderful. It’s such a peaceful, pretty spot, and the room was great with really comfortable beds.

We spent a fantastic weekend here. The village location made it easy to walk to nearby shops, and parking was convenient. The wraparound porch has lovely lake views, perfect with morning coffee or a drink at night. Stacy & Bill were terrific hosts, everything was clean, and breakfast was homemade and delicious. The atmosphere is quiet and cozy, whether you’re here for a weekend escape or a whole week.

We loved the lakeside sitting area, and having canoes and kayaks available for the lake was a great extra. When the weather cooperates, you can eat breakfast on the three-season porch. There’s also a coffee shop, ice cream shop, and bakery within walking distance. Everyone working there was friendly and clearly cared about guests being comfortable. Breakfast was homemade and amazing, and the place itself is beautiful. I’d give it 1,000 stars if I could. We’ll be back!
