We got there about an hour before the Thunderbird restaurant closed. The food was good, including pretty good fried chicken and baked macaroni, two favorites of ours. There's a decent salad bar and a great range of pies, cakes, and ice cream for dessert. I just wish there were more vegetable choices. The beans had bacon, so for us, since we don't eat pork or beef, the only options were green beans and cabbage. Our waitress only came by once to refill drinks or clear plates. She kept walking around seeming to talk to herself, which felt awkward, though it was harmless. I'd go back at a different time of day.

The buffet was $8.99, great food for the price, and I ate too much as usual when it's this good. I said I'd return when I was in the area, and I've been back a few times since. Today, 8 months later, was the best visit yet. The food was delicious as always, but I was starting to get a little annoyed that nobody had asked what we wanted to drink. Then Jenny, a very beautiful lady, came in to work and asked. She refilled our drinks and gave us cups to go. I won't put her last name on the net. Thanks, Jenny. Yes, I'll be back. 😉

The butter beans and greens were good, but my chicken was hard. The buffet cost 11.00 per person. If you're watching your sugar, this isn't the place for you. I love the tea, but today it tasted like someone dumped a whole bag of sugar in it. The fish batter tasted sweet too. The restaurant is overdue for a serious makeover. GORDON RAMSAY...WHERE ARE YOU? SAVE THIS RESTAURANT. It's not all bad, but there are better places with more variety.

I'd passed by several times over the years on my way to the beach, then stopped to try the buffet on the way back a few months ago. It was the best fried chicken I've ever had, and the vegetables were home cooked and seasoned perfectly. We liked it enough to return, stay the night, and have the breakfast buffet included with our stay. The room was clean and the food was great. Looking forward to the next trip.

You wouldn't guess from the outside how good the food is here. The staff were quick and really courteous, and the all-you-can-eat meal is proper Southern cooking. I left very happy with the place.
