The Oak Tree hotel is a lovely little find in downtown Arcadia. The rooms have their own charm, the decor is lovely, and the service was very friendly. They offer complimentary beer or wine and a great range of snacks. If you’re spending a night or more in the area, I’d pick it over the usual hotel chains. Support small businesses!

The alarm sirened for 5 to 10 seconds every ten minutes for hours, starting around 4 a.m. I got no sleep at all. At checkout, the guy at the counter asked whether I’d been in the room with the alarm. I said yes, the one that had been going off for four hours. He said he’d meant to knock because he thought the batteries were dying, but no one ever did. Dead batteries usually cause an occasional beep, not this. He just looked at me with a smug face. You’d be better off sleeping on a park bench outside.

We stayed overnight on the way to a Fossil Junkies tour on Peace river. It’s a quirky boutique hotel, with very friendly owners, lovely complimentary snacks and drinks, and super comfortable beds.

It was nice to take a break from the other hotels I stay in for work travel. The owners are very friendly and accommodating, and the complimentary snacks and sodas were a nice touch. I’ll definitely stay here next time.

The two rooms we rented had different themes and were clean and inviting. The older jacuzzi tubs have high sides and can be slippery since they’re fiberglass, so take care getting into the tub shower. Without handrails, it’d be easy to slip and fall. You might ask whether they have rubber mats. A complimentary glass of wine or cold beer is available in the upstairs “LivingRoom”, and the hot breakfast was filling and included. This is a delightful renovated hotel from around 1902 in Arcadia, in south central Florida. The very nice, proud owners did a great job remodeling it in 2018. It has a cozy bed and breakfast feel, with Victorian and Middle East decor tastefully blended. I highly recommend this gem.
