Key West Inn - Roanoke

There were unknown substances on the walls and ceilings, and someone’s fake eyelashes were stuck to the bathroom sink. The ceiling also had holes that looked like bullet holes. This is one of the nastiest motel rooms I’ve ever stayed in. I’d give it zero stars if I could.

I had reserved a king room with a spa bath, but there were problems with the room when I arrived and I had to move to another one. It had no spa bath. The listing also advertised laundry facilities, a pool, and free breakfast, but none of those were available. I was very unhappy, and only stayed because the location was closer to work during the winter storm.

I arrived very skeptical because this hidden gem is tucked far back in what feels like the middle of nowhere in Roanoke AL, but I left rested and satisfied. The rooms were more comfortable and better quality than I expected. The open wifi was easy to use, the beds were soft and cushiony, and I slept like a rock. The AC got very cold and did its job. Hard wood floors and wooden shower accents gave the room a rustic feel. My only drawback was that there’s no breakfast, though there are plenty of nearby restaurants to choose from. If you’re in the area or passing through, I highly recommend staying here. Thumbs up.

I was honestly surprised by how clean the place was, especially the room, which was spotless. The staff were friendly and professional.
