Tru By Hilton Roanoke Hollins

Breakfast was a bright spot: fresh, nicely prepared, and varied enough to get the day started, with staff keeping everything stocked. The dining space was clean and welcoming too. My room was spotless, comfortable, and had what I needed to relax. From arrival onward, the staff were warm, professional, and happy to help. The common areas were well kept, and the service felt thoughtful throughout my stay. I'd gladly come back and recommend it to anyone wanting comfort and good service.

That automatic pancake maker is a keeper, and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful whenever I saw them. I loved the extra lock built into the door, the roomy space, and all the places to put luggage and clothes. There's even a night light in the bathroom, and the room's colors are a great touch. The lobby welcomes you with its colors and open feel, plus snacks, drinks, a pool table, comfy seats, and different spots to sit and eat. Thanks for the filtered water option, too. Tru has made my very short list of places to stay around the world, if all locations meet this one's standard.

The room was spacious, clean, and had good luggage storage. Getting checked in was easy, and the reservation and room arrangement were handled quickly before we arrived. The shower took a little while to get hot. Breakfast was simple and convenient, and the staff paid attention.

The room was nice, breakfast was fine, and the location was great. The women we spoke with the next morning were lovely, but the desk clerk on arrival was rude and unprofessional. I already had a digital key, so I only stopped by for a spare card for my husband and the two Hilton Honors water bottles. He handed me a pet form even though I'd disclosed my service dog on the registration form. He asked the allowed questions, and I said I could show him the service badge since I was tired. He took the card and dog tag rudely, then asked for my DL and rolled his eyes in obvious disgust. He finally handed over the two waters reluctantly. I've never been treated that rudely at a Tru. We travel with a service dog and stayed here on Christians Eve. It was easy to find and nice, like the other Tru locations we've stayed at through Hilton Honors. I would've given more stars if not for that one employee.
