Best Western Plus Fort Worth Forest Hill Inn & Suites

The bed itself was okay, but the pillows went flat as soon as we lay down, even though they’d been fluffed up. We also had trouble with the sofa bed: its mattress cover had a large urine stain. Staff changed it quickly once we reported it. The room’s jetted tub had no working jets, and the outdoor hot tub was as cold as the pool. Staff had to let us through the pool gate without mentioning the pool wasn’t on. While my daughter was swimming, a homeless man unlocked the gate and jumped in wearing all his clothes and shoes. When I tried to dry my hair, the dryer sparked. I tried to tell the housekeeper, but she didn’t speak English, so I dropped it.

The hotel room we booked looked nothing like the one shown when we made the reservation. I’m not usually a fan of hotels like this, and this stay reinforced that feeling. We’d also reserved a conference room for an event, and it wasn’t clean. Then, on the day, we were told tablecloths would cost extra, although we’d originally been told they were part of the rental fee. The whole experience was disappointing.

I accidentally left something behind, but the person I called was dismissive from the start. She immediately said nothing had been turned in without asking which room we’d stayed in or putting me on hold to check. She said she’d call back, though she hadn’t asked for my number, and added that it probably wouldn’t be turned in anyway. When I asked how she’d reach me, she said she had my number, even though I wasn’t the person who reserved the room. I gave up and accepted the loss. They were no help.

My wife, kid, and I stayed there, and they claimed we’d smoked in the room. We don’t even smoke. Now I have to spend time going back to talk to a manager. They say they use a device to detect smoke, but they haven’t shown me any proof. I’m still on the phone with them, and it feels like they’re keeping the deposit without evidence. Bad service and a bad place.
