Fairfield Inn Forsyth Decatur

The front desk lady was very pleasant, and the room had apparently been newly renovated, but it still smelled like pee. The AC and bathroom fan were really loud, and the TV had to be 15 years old. Outside, the entrance looked scary, covered in plastic, and the parking lot was full of dumpsters and containers. The hotel was under construction, but when I asked, the front desk said the work was on hold. I don’t understand the high prices when the place is in such disarray. Don’t recommend it, and I wouldn’t leave the hotel after dark. Book somewhere else until construction resumes and is finished.

Reception was good, and they put us on the top floor, but the whole first floor was under construction and the place looked really sad. Our room was bare bones, with no shampoo dispenser and bare walls. We just grinned and bore it. I’m sorry we’d paid for the room in advance. This was the saddest Fairfield I’ve ever stayed at, and from now on I’ll look at reviews before booking.

The woman I spoke with was extremely kind and attentive, which helped me feel better about the stay. That’s the main reason I didn’t give it one star. Still, the on-site management seemed poorly organized. There was a lot of construction in the hallway to the elevators, and a simple “Pardon our appearance” sign would’ve helped set expectations. In the bathroom, the toilet had black stains inside, and the drain was clogged so badly that water backed up quickly. I had to shut it off to avoid getting sick.

For $150, this was the barest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The room had no bathtub, despite the ad, and the TV looked about 15 years old and was only 32 inches. The walls were bare, and there was no hair dryer, shampoo, or soap. I also saw no notice that construction was underway. If I’d known, I would’ve stayed across the street. Even a Motel 6 has better amenities. Charging this much, especially during construction, is pitiful.
