Courtyard by Marriott Fort Lauderdale Downtown

The east side of the hotel faces a major road, so expect loud traffic, motorcycles, hot rods, and sirens. The nightclub noise is just as bad. I was in a room right below it, and the sound carried through the hotel until 2 a.m., even though it was supposed to stop at 11 p.m., which is late enough already. Apparently private events sometimes continue into the morning. The hotel itself is quite nice, which makes this a difficult review to write, but the noise is unacceptable. The front desk said they couldn't do anything because the club is separate. Management shouldn't have allowed that setup. I raised the issue and emailed twice after my stay, but never heard back. A week has passed, so I assume they don't care or won't act. Avoid this hotel unless you plan to spend your time at the club and sleep according to its hours.

I paid $200 a night through my job rate, and for the cleanliness and location, it was worth it. Courtyard by Marriott Fort Lauderdale Downtown was very clean and well kept, with friendly, professional staff. It’s close to the cruise port and airport, which made travel convenient, and there were plenty of places to eat and grocery stores within walking distance. I’d stay here again before or after a cruise.

The rooms facing the street were so loud that I couldn't sleep, even with pillows and blankets over my head. The hotel looked nicely appointed at first, but the design seemed cheap. I wouldn't stay again for that reason.

My mom was left standing at reception for over an hour asking for help, while Monique helped everyone else. She was traveling alone, and I was panicked because I had no idea whether she was safe. The hallway smelled disgusting, and the elevator gets stuck a lot. I have never experienced customer service this bad. I booked her room for December 1. On the way there, her phone got disconnected, so I called the front desk to check whether she had arrived. The person who answered, who goes by "MONIQUE," said they were busy and could put me on hold or I could call back. I agreed to wait, but after 30 minutes with no update I hung up and called again. The same person said she was still busy. I called once more because I had no other option. At first she answered politely, then realized it was me and wouldn't listen or acknowledge my concern, and hung up. When I called again, she wouldn't let me speak, yelled at me, and abruptly ended the call. As a paying customer, I never expected to be yelled at or for my mom to be treated this way. Customer service and professionalism were nonexistent. Take your business elsewhere.
