Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa

The beachside area behind the hotel was fantastic, and I loved the gym and amenities too. Everyone was welcoming, from the staff at arrival to the friendly, helpful bar and restaurant team. Our room was clean and nice. I’ll be back.

The huge pool and gym kept us entertained, and there were games like ping-pong and beanbag toss. Breakfast is available in the morning, and our 10th-floor room had a lovely view. The hotel sits right on Fort Lauderdale Beach, close to the cruise port, which was handy for our family trip over Thanksgiving. We had a great time overall. It’s a modern, classy 15-floor property, though the price is high: internet was $12 a day and valet parking $60 a day. The location and amenities help make up for it. I didn’t love the all-tile room floor, and there was no microwave in the room. The only one was on the third floor. There was also a mix-up during our stay, with charges from some rooms landing on other guests’ cards. The hotel fixed it. One tip if you come: don’t expect a microwave in your room. We’d consider staying here again, especially for a family visit.

The staff were attentive and friendly throughout, from the beach team to the Bellman's. Someone opened the door for us whenever we entered. Though the hotel was busy, it never felt frantic, and the staff seemed well trained and observant. It’s tucked near the harbor at the end of town, with direct Beach access, and feels like a place that knows its business. We spent four nights here and had two rooms. The standard-sized High room had two King beds. It wasn’t huge, but it was new, comfortable and well appointed, with an oceanfront view. The Suite was breathtaking, with loads of space, several balconies and wraparound views. Its beds were brand new, and everything was very clean. We ordered breakfast and dinner through room service. It took about 40 minutes, and the food arrived hot, fresh and tasty. I travel a lot and have had disappointing in-room meals at much fancier hotels, so this stood out. I’d put this among the better Marriotts I’ve stayed in. There may be fancier or newer places, but we’ll undoubtedly be back. Thank you, Fort Lauderdale!

Rosa at RIVA was a pleasure to deal with and gave us excellent service. The rest of our experience there was disappointing, with several staff seeming bothered by basic requests or as though they didn’t want to be there. The food is expensive, though that’s what I’d expect at a resort like this. The property itself is beautiful. Our room was clean, the bed comfortable, and most rooms seem to have balconies with lovely views. There’s plenty of space around the pool, and the outdoor areas, beach included, are gorgeous. It’s worth a stay for the setting.
