Maritime Hotel Fort Lauderdale Airport & Cruiseport

We booked online because the listing on both the Marriott app and website said the accessible room had two queen beds. After waiting five hours for the room, we were given one with a king bed. The manager insisted we were mistaken, and ignored our emails with screenshots. We got no compromise or compensation. Their answer was a pillow and blanket on the concrete floor. The hotel had also told us before arrival that accessible transport to the cruise port would be available. After waiting over an hour and being told a van was coming, staff finally said nothing had been arranged, so we had to find our own transport. The general manager never came to the hotel to speak with us. This was not accessible for wheelchair users at all, and I would not recommend it to anyone who uses a wheelchair.

The hotel is pretty, and I had no trouble with check-in or the room. I also appreciated having an airport shuttle option. The dining service was the main issue. At dinner, one person seemed to be serving the whole floor and another the bar. Breakfast usually had just two servers. I waited 20-30 minutes to have my order taken, was forgotten when it came to getting a menu and silverware, and had to ask several times for the bill. It felt like they were understaffed, and the servers looked worn out from trying to cover everyone. They apologized for the service, but seemed too exhausted to bring much warmth, which showed in their attitudes. I felt bad for them. There were no major issues otherwise.

We loved spending time here as a family in a Day Room after our cruise. The hotel was beautiful, smelled amazing, and had spacious rooms. Marina helped us throughout the stay and arranged a complimentary shuttle to the airport. She was wonderful from start to finish, and I'd definitely come back.

The room looked run-down, poorly maintained, and nothing like the listing. I told the front desk right away that it wasn't acceptable and that I was leaving. David rudely said I'd still be charged even though I wasn't staying, so I walked in, looked around, and left immediately. In my first few minutes there, I'd also been asked to leave a positive review, which felt unprofessional and inappropriate. Between that, the poor condition of the room, and the unwelcoming behavior from David and another female staff member, the experience had no basic courtesy or hospitality. I wouldn't recommend staying here.
