Hampton Inn & Suites Fort Mill

The room was comfortable and very clean, and Miguel at the front desk was especially warm and professional. The location is okay, with a few decent restaurants close by. Getting to them on foot is awkward since there are no sidewalks, though I don’t think that’s the hotel’s fault.

The hotel itself was just okay, somewhere in the middle, but the service and billing were completely unacceptable. We asked for the room charges to go on our corporate card and the pet fee on our personal card. Instead, the pet fee was charged to both cards. They wouldn’t fix it when we raised the issue, and it took five days of repeated follow-up before Hilton finally corrected the billing. We were told three different times that the manager would call, but she never did. The man who answered the phone laughed each time we called, and we were repeatedly told the mistake was our fault. We’ve been Hilton Diamond Members for more than 15 years, so we remember when Hilton treated customers with more respect. That level of care doesn’t seem to be there now. We also appreciate the response to this review, but asking us to call is ridiculous. We called many times already and were told @lli$on would get back to us. It never happened, so why would it be different now? I’m not sure how this Hampton has a 4.5 rating with so many negative reviews over the past year. This was by far our worst Hampton Inn stay, and we’ll be looking at loyalty with another brand.

I only expect a budget hotel to be clean and work properly, but the room smelled musty, almost like feet. A lot of little things were broken, including the plugs and USB charging ports. There wasn’t even a closet or any hangers, though even most one-star places have a rail and a few. The rooms really need an upgrade. Laminate floors could help keep dirt and smells from getting trapped.

The beds were quite hard and the sheets felt scratchy, so it wasn’t especially luxurious. Still, the rooms were roomy and clean, and the staff were pleasant. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and the hotel is nicely tucked behind some shops.
