Stonebrook Inn Grove

We got two rooms, both of them nice and clean. The carpets, beds, towels, and bathrooms were all clean, and the coffee was good. I didn’t try breakfast, though I was told it wasn’t impressive. I was happy with the hotel and would stay again.

The room smelled of mold and filth, and the fridge was broken, spoiling our food and milk. The toilet barely flushed unless you held the handle down, the tub wouldn’t hold water, and there was no carpet, just a dirty floor. Breakfast was no real breakfast, just cold frozen muffins and biscuits with sausage, and the apple juice was watered down. The staff/manager was rude and dismissive. We paid over $400 for three days, then another $100 on the fourth, leaving only $40 unpaid. We explained at 9 a.m. that we’d get the $40 and money for another week. But at 2 a.m., they put our family out into the freezing cold over that balance, even though we could have paid the next morning and stayed. They wouldn’t refund a dime or let us stay that night. They knew we only got paid at the end of our shifts, and it felt like they took advantage of our situation. At first the place seemed okay, but that was a lie. This was a nightmare and a complete scam. They lie about amenities, cheat guests out of money, and treat people like trash. They showed no compassion or integrity. This place is a disgrace and a ripoff, a betrayal. They only care about lining their pockets, not their customers. Stay far away. Go anywhere else.

I’m always pleased when I visit this location. The hotel is well kept and conveniently located for everything. I’m satisfied with the room.

We had a reservation for the boat race but didn’t stay, since they had room for our race teams set up and we cancelled. Even so, the lovely staff let me fill the camper tanks with water. I’d recommend them based on that hospitality.
