Candlewood Suites Fort Smith

The location is perfect for us, tucked into a nice little spot close to the merchants we visit often. The General Manager and staff are top notch, and the beds are new and so comfortable. There's a big bathroom with amazing essentials, and the kitchen comes stocked with clean dishes in the dishwasher, yes, there's a dishwasher! Laundry is free to use too. By far the best place we've stayed.

We had a pleasant stay that honestly felt like home. Michael and Nancy are wonderful. The whole staff was welcoming, fun, and personable, and went out of their way to make us comfortable. Check-in and checkout were both quick and easy. We used the borrow system for board games, movies, and kitchen appliances almost every day. There's also a small store with snacks and things people forget, like razors, toothpaste, and toothbrushes. You can pay there or charge items to your room. The lobby always smelled lovely. One awkward moment was when the housekeeper wouldn't give us towels from her cart because they were for the room she was cleaning. She was going to the lobby to get a room key anyway, but didn't offer to bring us any.

The front desk staff were kind and friendly, the gym was lovely despite a couple of machines not working properly, and there are free laundry machines. We stayed about a week with my company and employees, and when the stovetop in one room and dishwasher in another didn't work, they moved those guys without a fuss. The fire alarm went off at 1 am on the first three nights, but they eventually fixed it and it didn't happen again. The big issue was our reservation. We'd said we'd be there about a month or longer, but after a week they told us they were fully booked and we'd need to find another hotel. I would definitely stay here again.

I had to cancel a trip, and the proprietor offered me a credit for a later stay, which I used that same year. I appreciated that. The room was clean and comfortable, with a kitchenette and dishes in the cabinet. There's no continental breakfast, but there is a lobby pantry where you can buy snacks and microwave meals. It works well for business travelers and families.
