Super 8 by Wyndham Ft Stockton

The afternoon receptionist was the best part of our stay. She was friendly, informative, and helpful. Breakfast was sufficient, with microwaveable breakfast sandwiches, a pancake machine, cereal, apples, and oatmeal. The room itself was disappointing. The bathroom walls and door were dirty, with little brown splash marks, there was hair in the shower, and the curtain pull looked like it had dried blood on it. The worst issue was the location. Across the parking lot was some kind of large truck or semi lot. From 3 to 7 in the morning, trucks kept idling, and diesel exhaust got into our room even with the heater off. It was awful. I wouldn’t recommend staying here, and although the other side might be better, I won’t be back.

Ashley was incredibly helpful, and the room was comfortable. The air conditioner worked perfectly and the price was affordable. I’d definitely stay here again!

Unfortunately, the low price came with the sort of problems you might expect. In the first room, the door had wet paint on it, there was white cream with a menthol smell on the wall, and the curtains were dirty. I called the front desk, and the manager was very apologetic. We changed rooms, but the air conditioning wouldn’t turn on, so we packed up and left. We did get our money refunded, but after a long day on the road, this was definitely not the night we wanted.

The staff were nice, and the hotel is near the freeway. For a remote city, the rate was competitive and the stay was acceptable. The facilities felt old and worn. The door didn’t close properly, and the bed and room decor were very outdated. Still, it was clean, reasonably comfortable, and functional. We didn’t try the continental breakfast, but it looked sparse and basic. Nothing special.
