Days Inn Fort Wayne

The owners were pleasant and friendly, and we found the rooms spacious, clean, and comfortable. The outside can give a misleading impression since the rooms have been remodeled. We liked having plenty of outlets and USB ports on the nightstand for both of us. There was a fridge, microwave, and coffee in the room, plus an easy walk to the lobby for more coffee. Breakfast was basic, but had what we needed to start the day.

We asked for two beds, but they kept checking whether one would be fine. When we got to the room, there was one bed squeezed in with four half-sized pillows. The shower and walls were dirty, the pillows weren’t even full, and the bathroom light took ages to come on. The owner says everything is “new,” apparently has for years. We went to ask for a refund less than 20 minutes after arriving and did get one, but the owner became hostile and defensive. Worst experience I’ve had. Save your time and money.

I was a little uneasy about the location as a senior woman traveling alone, but it turned out great. Getting on and off the expressway was easy, and both the parking lot and lobby were clean. It’s an older hotel where you park right by your door, but the inside has been remodeled nicely and was very clean. I’d stay here again without hesitation.

The owners are welcoming and clearly care about the business and how it looks. They made a point of recognizing me when I called or stopped in, and extending my stay was easy while my dad looked for an apartment. The room was spacious, too. The location is convenient, tucked away from the bustle of Washington Center Road but still near several restaurants and stores for everyday needs.
