Hampton Inn & Suites Fort Wayne Downtown

Good location in the heart of downtown, and the team was able to move us to the other side of the building when the street-side room was too loud. It was much quieter there. The hotel itself is nice, but don't get a room facing the street.

The entry walkways hadn't been salted well when we arrived just after 3, our stated check-in time. They had to make the key cards in a back room. The elevator floor was horribly filthy and the ride felt like it needed servicing. Upstairs, a housekeeping cart was overflowing with trash, and most rooms were still propped open and waiting to be cleaned. Our assigned room had greasy-looking patches on the disgusting walls, crumpled bedding, and a headboard covered in a greasy film. The tiles and shower floor were dirty, and there was mold on the ceiling above the toilet where a water leak hadn't been addressed. We told the front desk we were going elsewhere. After we'd moved to another hotel, an automated text arrived asking how our stay was going.

Robin was AMAZING when I showed up with a confirmation for a booking in MARCH!! She was so sweet and helpful, and got us a room. I was so grateful. Hampton Inn, give that girl a raise. She's a gem.

The location is the only good thing about this hotel. I've stayed here many times, but never again. Even after I showed proper ID, they didn't honor the rate I'd booked and instead gave me the AAA rate. At checkout, they doubled the bill and removed every discount. The manager was rude and unprofessional when I tried to work it out, and even rolled her eyes at me. This stay was filthy too: pubic hair on the toilet seat, hairs in the shower and bed, food crumbs all over the room, and a terrible smell. I cleaned what I could because after the way the front desk lady treated me at check-in, I didn't expect her to help. As someone who stays at Hilton regularly, I can't tell you how disappointing this trip was.
