SpringHill Suites Fort Wayne Southwest

SpringHill Suites looked new and was otherwise in good condition, but this facility and the adjoining Fairfield Inn seem poorly managed. After a small snowfall the night before, the untreated parking lot had become extremely slippery when the temperature dropped. I raised it with management twice, but nothing was done until early the next morning. The next day, the fitness room had no heat at all. I waited at the front desk for an indifferent clerk wearing AirPods to come from the back. She sent someone from housekeeping to turn on the heat, but it never came on. Later I had a shower with only lukewarm water.

The room design was lovely, and the hotel itself is new and attractive. Parking was easy, and the front desk staff were friendly. Our two queen room was beautiful and spacious, but the cleaning was questionable. Hair was in the tub, whose drain was clogged and very slow. The mirror was streaky, like it had been wiped with a dirty rag. There were black crumbs, maybe chocolate, all over the bedspread, and a bag of teddy grahams in the drawer. Maybe that was a gift for guests, but I suspect the drawer wasn't checked during cleaning. I just wish the room had been cleaned more thoroughly.

I liked having a separate spot to sit and get some work done. The room had lots of space, the bathroom was big and bright, and the bed was comfortable.

The comforter had blood on it. I also found that clean sheets were being dragged along the lobby and hallway floors while they were folded. Used soap was taken away and not replaced, so I had to go get more. Bathroom linens only come every other day unless you ask, which I wish they had explained at check-in, especially for a stay of more than two weeks.
