avid hotel Fort Worth – Fossil Creek by IHG

The room was quiet apart from the highway dragstrip noise. It was clean, the hotel was in good shape, and the staff were friendly and available. Breakfast was okay if chicken patties are your thing. I was impressed by the state-of-the-art coffee machines and wish more hotels had them. This was our first time at this style of hotel, and we enjoyed it. If we visit my brother-in-law again, we'll stay here.

Free breakfast, easy parking, and a friendly front desk. There's also a 24-hour gym, an ice machine, and a purified water dispenser. The room was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and it was cold and dark. I liked having a sitting area where I could hang coats and put on shoes. I'd stay again.

Housekeeping wasn't offered during my multi-day stay, and the front desk staff were rude and unhelpful from check-in onward. That set a bad tone. The rooms felt cramped and extremely small, with cheap, worn interiors that made the place seem poorly maintained. It didn't match what the photos or price led me to expect. It just wasn't a good experience. I'd pay a little more for somewhere more comfortable and welcoming.

My room was prepaid through Booking.com, but the next morning they charged my deposit card for it anyway. I spoke with a manager two weeks ago, who promised a refund, but it never arrived. It was very disappointing to have to spend my time sorting this out. Edit: New management fixed the issue and processed the refund.
