It's an older hotel, so the rooms feel dated and could use refurbishment. I'd also suggest adding more trash bins and ash cans outside. The front desk employees, though, are wonderful. From the first day I met Joe, the manager, everyone has been respectful, kind, and pleasant. They always greet me and ask about my day or whether I need anything.

I was meant to stay a little over a week, but arrived with my three kids and felt unsafe right away. The parking lot was dirty, the building looked run-down, and the lobby, elevator, and hallways smelled sour and were visibly unclean. Nothing looked maintained or functional. Room one hadn't been cleaned. There was pee and feces in the toilet, hair and debris everywhere, and it looked like the bed had been made up with the same used linens. I went straight back down before even bringing in my kids or luggage. Room two was worse. Its broken door frame left a gap you could see through from the hallway when the lights were on, and the lock could be popped with a credit card. Completely unsafe with children. It was even dirtier, and we saw roaches. In room three, roaches scattered everywhere as soon as I turned on the lights. I recorded opening the door and didn't even unpack. That was it. I had to get all three kids back in the car at night and sit there for over an hour searching for another hotel and requesting a refund that STILL hasn't appeared on my card. Thankfully, a Marriott just three minutes away was 100 times better, clean and safe. Roaches, filth, and a run-down building made this the worst hotel experience I've had. I'd never recommend it, especially to families. It's unsafe and unsanitary, and shouldn't be operating in this condition.

The managers and staff are great, and this place is home to several good people who are barely getting by. The ESA is what it is and could use a lot of love. You can't compare it with nearby hotels on service alone, but if you need an ultra-affordable place to sleep and go, this is for you. Lock your cars and park on the front side. There's also a nice little nature path where you can walk with your kid or pet and see lots of ducks, turtles, rabbits, and frogs.

I booked two nights at the last minute for my wife, kids, and me. The room looked like housekeeping had rushed through it, with only two pillows and an uneven, misshapen mattress. The furniture and room were worn out and outdated, and we pulled out the couch mattress only to put it right back. My wife and kids left immediately, then I gathered our things. It wasn't a pleasant stay, and I can't believe how poorly managed the place is. I won't be returning to an extended stay. My wife has also taken away my say in future hotel choices and bookings.
