The checkout staff member was nice, but this has been the worst customer service experience I’ve had, even compared with cheaper hotels. We’ve been here to visit family for Thanksgiving, and while the hotel is clean, the staff hasn’t been friendly. There are six of us, including small children. Last night the front desk called about a noise complaint in a harsh tone, seeming to assume we were being loud. The TV wasn’t up, we weren’t talking loudly, and there was no music. The kids were getting on and off the beds. I reminded them not to stomp, but with small children you can’t control every movement. In the morning I went down to get breakfast for them to eat when they woke up. A staff member watched my 16-year-old daughter and me, then said, “The food is for everybody.” We were carrying what we could upstairs, and we’d have eaten more if we’d gone down with the kids. I’ve felt disrespected more than once and won’t recommend or return. The front desk also charged us $4 per small juice bottle, even after I questioned it. The sign said $2, but I paid $20 for five because the juice from the machine tasted like soap. At checkout I asked someone else, who checked the list and confirmed they were $2, but said he couldn’t refund me because the manager wasn’t there.

For the price, this is a clean and comfortable place to stop while traveling. The lobby coffee was surprisingly good. Linda, the host, went out of her way to welcome my daughter, who has special needs, and gave her some Valentine’s gifts.

I left my wife’s jacket in the closet and called a few hours after checking out to arrange a pickup. They told me it wasn’t in the bedroom, so I’m left thinking someone kept it. The poor service and what felt like a lack of loyalty mean I won’t stay here again.

I’ve stayed in quite a few hotels, and this has to be one of the best. Ms. Celina and the rest of the staff have been excellent.

We come back to this hotel whenever we visit family nearby, and we plan to return early next spring. Everything else was very good, including breakfast, though the carpet in our room could use a cleaning.
