Sonesta Select Huntington Beach Fountain Valley

The suite was large, quiet, and had lots of amenities. The bed and bedding were clean and comfortable, no bed bugs, and the room had a work desk, pool view, blackout curtains, microwave, fridge, and a Keurig with plenty of pods and tea. The large TVs and shower dispensers for body wash, shampoo, and conditioner were nice, too. I enjoyed the stay tremendously. We're close to the freeway, but my suite was on the opposite side of the hall and I heard no noise. There's plenty of parking, though it's $10 a night. There's no free breakfast at this building. My family says the building next door on the same property has it, and management should let guests go there. Joining their club is free and got me a huge discount on a suite upgrade. One thing that turned out okay was the 8 a.m. wake-up call arriving at 6 a.m. It gave me extra time before the 11 a.m. checkout. I highly recommend the property if you join the club for the free upgrade discount.

They didn't mention the $10 nightly parking charge until we were checking in. The lot is uncovered and unguarded, with plenty of spaces. I also asked for a quiet room, but a dog kept barking and I couldn't sleep. When I told the desk, the employee was rude, said they were pet friendly, and then said nothing could be done after I asked if they were people friendly. Management here is terrible.

We had to extend our stay for family reasons, and there was absolutely no trouble arranging it. The room was clean and very comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The location is fantastic, with freeway access just a few minutes away. We'll stay here again.

Service needs a better attitude, and the front desk was busy when we checked in and didn't tell us to call for housekeeping. We ended up with just one cleaning during our nine-night stay. There was enough parking, but it cost $10 per night. Noise was another problem: people talking and laughing in other rooms were easy to hear, and the people above us walked back and forth day and night, interrupting our sleep. I won't return to this hotel.
