Two calls to the office during the quiet hours, 10 p.m. to 7 a.m., didn’t stop the people upstairs from speed-walking back and forth, dropping and dragging things all night. I couldn’t sleep during my one-night stay. Our group had two rooms, and both smelled bad and had unclean floors. Two of us got bites on our feet and ankles, and there were house centipedes on the walls by the headboard. The ice machine ice had black blobs of mold in it, and our sink was clogged and wouldn’t drain. The neighborhood felt shady, so I was just glad our car wasn’t damaged and we weren’t shot. The owners said the card machines were down when I arrived and asked me to pay the full amount through an app. Somehow, though, the credit card I used to reserve the rooms online was charged before we left the next morning. They also make guests sign a waiver listing the rules, including quiet hours, but calling about the noise got no resolution. If you’re considering this as a bargain, forget it. Pay more and stay anywhere else.

Check-in was easy, and the staff were cool. I was surprised by how fresh and clean everything looked. The rooms have been redone and feel really comfortable. I’d stay here again.

Everything worked as it should, and the area felt safe. The room was clean, the staff friendly, and the price was good. I’d definitely return to Suburban Studios.
